TULSA, Okla. -  Mill Creek Carpet & Tile announced the opening of a new store inside Evans Rooms Today designed to establish a design center for flooring in a home furnishings setting. A ribbon cutting ceremony for the new store has been scheduled for 10 a.m., Friday, September 16th, at Evans Rooms Today located at 6225 East 36th Street.

The Mill Creek flooring store located on the top floor of Evans Rooms Today invites customers to browse over the wide variety of designer colors, patterns, and style choices from sophisticated patterned carpets to the luxurious travertine tiling.  Placing a flooring store a furniture store is on the cutting edge of the design and fashion industry. This will be the only store of its type in the Midwest.

“We thought it was a great idea to incorporate flooring designs such as carpet, tile, hardwood, and area rugs along with different furniture pieces and room displays,” explained Jack Rodden, President of Mill Creek Carpet & Tile.  “Evans Rooms Today has been gracious enough to give us some premiere space in their store and we are looking forward to a successful relationship.  We feel purchasing furniture will be easier when you can visualize what the flooring will look like with your favorite room selection.”

Mill Creek has hired design consultants certified by the American Society of Interior Decorators (ASID) who will assist customer in finding the perfect flooring to match any home décor.

Mill Creek Carpet & Tile is owned by Mill Creek Companies, a chain with six lumberyards, a custom mill, architectural woodworking plant, a wholesale operation, a professional tool and fastener retail operation, and a commercial flooring division.  Mill Creek added Carpet & Tile to its list of subsidiaries in 1992, and has grown to over eighteen store locations with combined retail sales of over $40 million.  The company is headquartered in Tulsa and has locations in eight Oklahoma cities, as well as five locations in Texas.  Mill Creek was founded in 1934, and today is owned by the Dunn family of Tulsa and employs over 400 full time employees.  Jeff Dunn presides as the current President with his father, Jim Dunn as Chairman.
